National Press Club with the Hon Catherine King MP

Was a pleasure to hear from the Hon Catherine King MP, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, at the National Press Club this afternoon.

Pertinent to her portfolio, the Minister spoke on the role of infrastructure and it’s importance to the Australian economy. Whether it’s Metronet in Perth or a smaller project like Mickleham Road in Melbourne – all infrastructure projects matter. Indeed, the Australian infrastructure industry contributed to 8.9% of Australia’s GDP in 2021-22.

Of particular note, the Minister spoke on incoming legislative updates to the role of Infrastructure Australia; refining the organisation to become the Commonwealth’s prime independent adviser on nationally significant infrastructure projects.

This is an exciting time for infrastructure!
