PPA on the Ground at Avalon 2023

PPA was on the ground this week at the Avalon 2023 Airshow, with clients Thomas Global SystemsBlacktree Technology, Rafael Australia and CAE Australia, among the 800-strong exhibitors.

The Victorian State Government was eager to capitalise on the Airshow as an international drawcard, showcasing the state’s defence capabilities, and hosting a VIP reception amidst the Italianate granduer of Victoria’s Government House on Wednesday.

After a four-year Covid-induced hiatus, the 2023 Airshow has been a blockbuster. For the first time in its 30-year history, public entry tickets to today’s session are sold out.

PPA clients, Thomas Global Systems and CAE Australia were among a number of companies making major announcements this week at Avalon.

In a huge breakthrough for Australia’s defence industry, Thomas Global Systems is the first Australian advanced manufacturer selected by Boeing Defense USA to design and manufacture cockpit avionics for the global fleet of AH-64 Apache helicopters, including 29 Apaches destined for the Australian Army.

CAE Australia also announced that it has secured a 19-year contract extension to continue delivering training and sustainment support services under the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Aerospace Simulator Integrated Support and Training (ASIST) program.

PPA also sends props across the Nullabor to our good friends at Innovaero – the amazing Australian aeronautical tech company partnering with BAE on the STRIX hybrid propulsion Uncrewed Aerial System. Innovaero is behind the innovative design for STRIX which can be launched and landed vertically and features foldable wings.
